Gloucester Lyceum &
Sawyer Free Library's
Annual Appeal
The Board of Directors and staff of the Gloucester Lyceum and Sawyer Free Library welcome Roger Brisson as Library Director. Roger has made a commitment to increase library technology and has a clear vision for the new library. At this time, we ask for your commitment, also. Please make a much-needed contribution to our library, Gloucester's oldest cultural institution. Your donation helps Sawyer Free Library to provide books, information, literary and cultural programming to more than 200,000 people every year.
In this letter
to the community, President of the
Library Board, Mary Jane McGlennon, describes the way one young patron, Nancy Frye, made a special contribution to the library, by donating funds she received while playing her violin at the annual Gloucester Sidewalk Days this August.
With her help, and the help of many supportive Gloucester library patrons, our Third Annual Appeal enabled the library to replace old stairway and Friend Room carpeting, purchase new shelving, update computers, and provide additional funding for books. This year, we want to focus on the Children's Library, where fresh paint, new carpeting, shelving, and furniture are needed.
Tax deductible donations support the renovation of the Library and related services. To contribute, print and complete the Donation Form, bring it to the library, or mail the form to:
