Sawyer Free Library’s Local History Research Center provides information on genealogy and local history from the Cape Ann area. We hold digital resources, in-library collections, and primary source materials on the history of Gloucester and Cape Ann.
Location
The Local History Research Center is located at the Sawyer Free Library, 2 Dale Ave in Gloucester.
Hours
The Local History Research Center is open drop-in hours on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10 am -1 pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 – 4 pm. Email jtravers@sawyerfreelibrary.org or call the library at 978-325-5500 to schedule an appointment outside of those hours.
Mapping Memory: Gloucester’s Oral History Project
The Local History Research Center at the Sawyer Free Library is launching the Mapping Memory: Gloucester’s Oral History Project, a new community initiative to collect, preserve, and share the personal stories that define Gloucester’s neighborhoods.
